Aristos, a benevolent young man, juggles two jobs to make ends meet--by day, he is a hard-working stevedore, while by night, he is an excellent singer at the local tavern. Intent on marrying his penniless but honest fiancée, Mario, a fateful encounter with Katerina--a successful industrialist's affluent daughter who pretends to be poor--will pave the way for an unexpected change of plans.
