Summaries

It is a parody, which mimics with a sweet and nostalgic mood the whole spectrum of the old Greek cinema of the 60's.

This is the story of two Greek families, named Delafrangas and Bisbikides. The former family is very wealthy & lucky, the latter very poor and continually struck by fate. Poor but honest Martha is in love with Giakoumis, a young builder and bouzouki organist, but all her dreams fall apart when posh Tzela "steals" the love of her beloved one... A couple of flash backs, following their families roots back to WW2 and the Turkish domination, and a hidden secret will unfold the story's ending...—Yiorgos Efthimiadis <[email protected]>

Against the backdrop of early 1960s Greece, youthful dreams, ambitious aspirations, and unexpected whirlwind romances become inextricably intertwined. Pivoting around the ostentatious and glamorous world of the powerful Delafranga family, a clan of ruthless and unscrupulous shipowners, and the honest but perpetually impecunious Bisbikis family, the story begins to unfold shortly after the chance encounter of the filthy rich heiress, Tzela Delafranga, with the hard-working bricklayer, Yakoumis, on his engagement party. Now, Yakoumis, who is betrothed to Martha, a poor girl with a heart of gold, is having cold feet. What does devilishly beautiful Tzela want from Yakoumis? Is a long-forgotten family secret the root of all evil?—Nick Riganas
