The movie centers around the Roman family; Thomas and Monica and their three children, Rebecca, Marcus and Nicolas. The Romans are Christians, but have let their spirituality fall to the wayside. Thomas and Monica consume themselves in their work to maintain their lavish lifestyle. Rebecca has gotten involved with a boy in school. Marcus has fallen in with a bad crowd at a record studio. Nicolas is the only one who stays on track with his spirituality. Eventually, the Romans let a couple, the Barrels, from their congregation live at their house and Brother Barrel helps Thomas realize that his faith in Jehovah and keeping his family's faith strong is more important than his luxurious lifestyle and career.
