Romi, was 12 years old when the Holocaust devastated his hometown, Pressburg. With his cunning personality, Romi outsmarted the Nazis. He saved dozens of Jewish families. He supplied Jewish families in hiding, money and false documents so that they can survive under the Nazi regime. Romi was later caught by the Gestapo, He escaped and joined a partisan platoon in Slovakia. He contributed to fighting the Nazis as a partisan as the partisans inflicted heavy casualties on the SS troops.
