Summaries

A dead tow truck driver stops an alcoholic Vietnam veteran from driving his '65 Chevelle down the Highway to Hell.

Set in the mid-1980s, The Wrecking Yard takes place in the greater Sacramento area of Northern California. Jack Connelly, the main character, is a divorced U.S. Army veteran who dances at River City's most popular country music nightclub, The Yellow Rose in Citrus Heights, works for the VFW, has almost restored his 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS, and is an alcoholic with PTSD, a service-connected disability he suffers from as a result of serving in the Vietnam War. One fateful night after an evening of drinking and dancing, Jack meets a mysterious tow truck driver, Lee Brown, who supposedly owns an auto dismantling and recycling business specializing in Chevrolets. Lee provides Jack with a lifeline, the part he needs to finish restoring his Chevy and the motivation to stop drinking and driving - before he suffers a fate worse than death.—Steve Dakota
