With dreams of a bright future, Nikos, an honest, hard-working woodworker, and his anaemic wife, Virginia, decide to get married and start a family in late-1950s Gargaretta neighbourhood, Athens, Greece. However, when Virginia becomes gravely ill, Nikos invites her beautiful seventeen-year-old distant cousin, Liolia, to take care of her, and monitor her rapidly deteriorating health. At first, Liolia's arrival is a blessing; nevertheless, right from the start, irresistible lust takes over, as Nikos and Liolia fall madly in love with each other behind Virginia's back.
