During a raid on a gambling house, Dick Butler, who leads a double life as both a wealthy libertine and as the "Wall Street Whiz," dodges the police and leaps into a car driven by Mrs. McCooey. He is immediately taken with the beauty of young Peggy McCooey and proclaims himself to be a "Butler." Mrs. McCooey misunderstands and Dick soon finds himself working as a servant to the family. He uses the opportunity to foil the attempts of crooked stockbroker John Clayton to ruin Mr. McCooey in the market and to thwart a pair of burglars in the broker's employ. Dick's identity is eventually disclosed, and he marries Peggy.—AFI
