The Australian version of the American game show, hosted by Axle Whitehead. A team of two contestants plays each game, with a potential top prize of $12,374,994.
The Wall is a gigantic pegboard that is four storeys high, similar to a bean machine or a pachinko game. There are seven numbered "drop zones" at the centre top of the board, from which balls can be released into play, and 15 slots at the bottom which have a variety of dollar amounts, of which the largest seven change in value as the game progresses. Each episode is played by a team of two contestants. Throughout the game, the team bank has a floor of $0, and the game's potential top prize is $12,374,994. When a green ball falls into a money slot, the team bank will increase by the amount in that slot. When a red ball falls into a money slot, the team bank will decrease by the amount in that slot.
The first round is called Free Fall. In this round, the slot values range from $1 to $25,000 and the dollar values in the slots, from left to right, are $1, $5,000, $100, $20,000, $10, $10,000, $1, $25,000, $1, $10,000, $10, $20,000, $100, $5,000 and $1. The team are asked five questions, for which two choices of answers are presented. After the choices are revealed, three white balls are released simultaneously, one from drop zone 1, another from drop zone 4 and the third from drop zone 7. The team have to decide which of the choices is correct and lock their selection in before the first ball crosses a money slot's threshold. If the team choose the correct answer, the three balls will turn green and the amounts in the slots that they fall into will be added to their team bank. If they choose the incorrect answer or fail to lock an answer in before the first ball crosses a money slot's threshold, the three balls will turn red and the amounts in the slots that they fall into will be subtracted from their team bank. After the five questions are asked, if the team bank's balance is $0, the game will end immediately for the team and they leave with nothing, otherwise the balance at the end of the round (which has a maximum amount of $375,000, achievable if the team answer all 5 questions correctly and all 15 balls fall into the $25,000 slot) will become part of a guaranteed payout that will be offered to the team at the end of the game.
At the beginning of Round 2, the team's contestants are separated from each other until the final decision has been made at the end of the game. One contestant enters an isolation chamber located behind The Wall, while the other remains onstage with host Axle Whitehead. In this round, the slot values range from $1 to $250,000 and the dollar values in the slots, from left to right, are $1, $5,000, $100, $10,000, $10, $25,000, $1, $50,000, $1, $100,000, $10, $125,000, $100, $250,000 and $1. The onstage player has to play two green balls at the beginning of the round, at least three white balls in the middle, and if the team bank is large enough, two red balls at the end of the round. The onstage player has to select two of the drop zones, with their selections potentially being used twice - the two green balls at the beginning are released simultaneously from the chosen drop zones, as are the two red balls at the end if they are played.
Three multiple-choice questions with three choices of answers are then asked. The onstage player gets to see only the answer choices, and based on how confident they are that the isolated player can answer the question correctly, they have to decide which drop zone to release a white ball from. The question and choices of answers are then presented to the isolated player. After that player makes their choice, the white ball is released from the chosen drop zone and allowed to fall into one of the money slots. After it falls into a slot, the onstage player finds out if the isolated player has chosen the correct answer (the isolated player will not know whether or not their chosen answer is correct or what effect it has on the team bank). If they choose the correct answer, the ball will turn green and the amount in the slot will be added to the team bank, but if they choose one of the incorrect answers, the ball will turn red and the amount in the slot will be subtracted from the team bank. For the second question, the onstage player has the option to Double Up - if they take this option, two balls will be released from the selected drop zone. For the third question, the onstage player has the option to Triple Up - if they take this option, three balls will be released from the selected drop zone. For both of these options, only after all of the balls have fallen into the money slots will the onstage player find out if the isolated player has chosen the correct answer. After the third question, if there is at least $3 in the team bank, the two red balls are released simultaneously from the same drop zones as the two green balls at the start of the round, otherwise the bank is automatically lost (if the red balls are dropped, the least that could be lost from the bank is $2). The maximum amount that the onstage player can add to the team bank in this round is $1,999,998, achievable if the isolated player answers all three questions correctly, the onstage player elects to Double Up on the second question and Triple Up on the third and the two green and six white balls fall into the $250,000 slot and the two red balls both fall into $1 slots.
The general play of Round 3 is similar to that of Round 2. In this round, the slot values range from $1 to $1,000,000 and the dollar values in the slots, from left to right, are $1, $50,000, $100, $100,000, $10, $150,000, $1, $200,000, $1, $300,000, $10, $400,000, $100, $1,000,000 and $1. The onstage player has to play four green balls at the beginning of the round, at least three white balls in the middle, and if the team bank is large enough, four red balls at the end of the round. The onstage player has to select four of the drop zones, with their selections again potentially being used twice - the four green balls at the beginning are released one at a time from the chosen drop zones, as are the four red balls at the end if they are played. The three multiple-choice questions come with four choices of answers, and the onstage player again has the options to Double Up on the second question and Triple Up on the third to play more than one white ball from their selected drop zone.
After the final question is asked and its correct answer is revealed, the host will send a contract up to the isolated player in their booth, where they then decide in secret whether to sign it or tear it up. If they choose to sign the contract, the team will win a guaranteed payout equal to their winnings from the Free Fall round plus an additional $20,000 for every question answered correctly in Rounds 2 and 3. If they choose to tear up the contract, the team will win the final total from their bank. While the isolated player makes their decision, if there is at least $5 in the team bank, the four red balls are released one at a time from the same drop zones as the four green balls from the start of the round, otherwise the bank is automatically lost (if the red balls are dropped, the least that could be lost from the bank is $4). The maximum amount that the onstage player can add to the team bank in this round is $9,999,996, achievable if the isolated player answers all three questions correctly, the onstage player elects to Double Up on the second question and Triple Up on the third and the four green and six white balls fall into the $1,000,000 slot and the four red balls all fall into $1 slots. Once the final total of the team bank has been determined and the isolated player has made their final choice, they will send the contract back to the host, either signed or torn up. The host does not reveal the isolated player's choice.
The maximum possible guaranteed payout is $495,000, achievable if all 15 balls in the Free Fall round fall into the $25,000 slot, all five Free Fall questions are answered correctly by the team and the six questions across Rounds 2 and 3 are answered correctly by the isolated player. The maximum possible team bank total is $12,374,994, achievable if the team bank $375,000 from the Free Fall round, $1,999,998 from Round 2 and $9,999,996 from Round 3 by correctly answering all 11 questions, always taking the Double Up and Triple Up options, having all 6 green balls and 27 white balls fall into the highest-value money slots (15 into the $25,000 slot in the Free Fall round, 8 into the $250,000 slot in Round 2 and 10 into the $1,000,000 slot in Round 3) and all 6 red balls fall into $1 slots.
The isolated player is then released and returned to the stage to join their onstage teammate. With the team re-united, the host tells the team how many questions the isolated player answered correctly and the total of the guaranteed payout that the team will win if the isolated player signed the contract. The two players then share their thoughts about the game with each other, during which the onstage player tells the isolated player how much money ended up in the team bank, and the isolated player tells the onstage player whether they signed the contract, meaning that the team win the amount of the guaranteed payout, or tore it up, meaning that they win the total of the team bank, which could potentially be millions or nothing.
