A son cares for his sick father during the onset of the pandemic, and finds solace in shared memories.
Written and co-directed by journalist Mitchell Consky, and based on a heartfelt chapter from his acclaimed memoir Home Safe, this short drama follows a night in the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, as Harvey and his adult son Mitch find themselves locked inside together while their family of first responders and medical workers isolate across town. Harvey has been recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, and the tensions between him and Mitch rise as Harvey's insistence on bringing levity to the darkest of situations only heighten his son's exhaustion and frustration. A socially-distanced detour to the garage of Mitch's friend Mike opens Mitch's eyes to the fact that his life might be about to change forever, and when he returns home, father and son reconcile and find solace in their shared memories.—Mitchell Consky
