'The Stand Ups' is a look the trials and tribulations of the modern comedy scene focusing on five stand up comedians at pivotal points in their careers with additional stories and input from a host of international comedy names.

Though comedy is a big draw for audiences, reaching the level of success needed to earn a living is not easy. It's a constant battle to draw in audiences and become recognised in your own nation and then the world! In this series, we follow five comedians on their own personal journeys towards the big time. One is on his last attempt to make it BIG, two are just starting out and on their way to the famous Edinburgh Comedy Festival, and the final two have already experienced a few triumphs but need to take the next steps to further their careers. Do they have what it takes to make the world laugh?
