Diana is raped in her own home but does not tell her husband, Mario. Mario witnessed part of the attack but does not intervene and does not tell Diana he was there. The film follows the ensuing weeks in their relationship, slowly feeding us clues to explain their actions and the two-year break in their marriage, while they try to keep things as normal as possible for their children.
