Synopsis

Olivia, a beautiful nightclub singer (Joan Crawford), attracts every man she meets, including the brother of her new fiance. Her fiance, Henry, (Melvyn Douglas) and his brother, David, (Robert Young) are from an old, wealthy, landed-gentry-type family. Even David's wife, Judy (Margaret Sullavan) adore Olivia, but their sister, Hannah (Fay Bainter) recognizes the trouble that's brewing. Judy realizes that she loves David much more than she loves him.

When Hannah sets the newlywed's newly constructed house on fire, things come to a head and everyone realizes how foolish they've been. Yay!
