Driven by a vain desire to make a name for himself and rise above the cruel limitations of his social class, the ambitious and overzealous but untried civil engineer, Alekos Stathakis, embarks on a bold journey to conquer the world. Freshly released from the Greek Army, the young pipe-dreamer can't wait to spread his wings and dazzle the business world with his innovative ideas; alas, much to his surprise, he proves inadequate, always falling short of everyone's expectations. Then, on the verge of failure and utter defeat, Alekos finds refuge in a sweet but dangerous fabrication, choosing to keep the harsh truth from his supportive wife, Christina, and his weary father, Ioannis. Now, there's no other way but down; however, what would happen if the once-enthusiastic idealist believed in himself?—Nick Riganas
