15 year old Amy Juergens go to band camp and has sex for the first time with bad boy, Ricky Underwood. As the school year begins she finds out the terrifying news that she is pregnant. Now, Amy must learn to adapt to life as a pregnant teenager in high school while trying to balance her romantic connection with the rich, good boy Ben Boykewich and dodging the father of her babys on and off girlfriend Adrian Lee. In the midst of this unplanned pregnancy is Grace Bowman, a Christian girl who is proud that she is waiting to have sex after she is married, and her boyfriend, Jack Pappas, who is also a Christian, but does not think he can follow in her footsteps.
