Summaries

The San Mateo Empowerment Project was created by University of Mississippi students to support a community-led effort to replace miles of dangerous plank bridges with viable roads. This documentary captures the spirit of the community and the belief that the people can make a difference. The residents of San Mateo realize that they are worthy of a decent standard of living as the road progresses. This construction will remove a serious safety hazard for children and provide access to water, electricity, and sewage systems for thousands of people living in San Mateo, Belize.—Anonymous
