Inspired by Alfred Hitchcocks "Lifeboat" The Raft -La Balsa tells the tale of four Cubans who escape the Castro dictatorship on a raft. They rescue a drowning man from the sea who takes control of the raft and tries to rape the woman on board. The raft becomes the symbol of an oppressed society and it's occupants are the people who have to confront their tyrant.
