Synopsis

Climate change, drought, wars, floods, earthquakes.In a word, the Apocalypse.If today the future of humanity is questioned by the environmental crisis and the winds of a nuclear war, there is a man who since years is warning us that the end of the world is near, asking us to repent of our sins.Every day Stefano Ansaldo, a 45 year old of South American origins, transforms streets, squares and markets into improvised places of evangelical preaching: from the suburbs to the center of Naples, from the Ligurian seafront to Saint Peter in Rome, from Germany to Brazil. his His wife Cristiana always follows him, filming every gesture and word with a cell phone, then the videos are uploaded to social networks: Youtube channel "Only Jesus Saves", born in 2012, has now 8,500 videos and 60K followers.The sermons are not reassuring: Stefano walks among the market stalls holding a Bible in his hand, admonishing passers-by and sellers, inviting them to convert and repent, on pain of eternal damnation, because "the time of Judgment is about to come".His voice, already firm and powerful, rises in tone and "cries out in the desert" in front of sinners or "false idols": churches, religious statues, money.Stefano and Cristiana live aboard a RV that has become their house, as well as a mean of transport and a tool for preaching. The film follows their daily life, between evangelical preaching and much more earthly needs. What emerges is the intimate portrait of a man who has dedicated his life to a single cause. He has a vocation, an all-encompassing passion that does not accept compromises and which led him aside from his church, from his "brothers".Eventually, we may find ourselves tempted to abandon skepticism and personal beliefs and side with, almost root for him.Will "The Preacher" be able to accomplish his mission, saving us from the upcoming Apocalypse?
