Joan Wiswell (Irene Rich), Ted Workman (Clive Brooks) and wholesome Helen Ripley (June Marlowe) are among the half-dozen or more suspects, all for good reasons of their own , murdered a high-society crook called Genne Cassenas (Gayne Whitman).—Les Adams <[email protected]>
While sitting in his own home, Gene Cassenas is fatally shot by an unknown assailant. Tad Workman, the former police commissioner, is called in on the case, and six persons are placed under suspicion: Joan Wiswell, a beautiful socialite; Tommy Wiswell, her brother; Terry, a former business associate of the murdered man; Helen Ripley, the fiancée of the murdered man; her father, General Ripley; and a valet. With precise deduction, Tad finally proves that the valet killed Cassenas by rigging up a clock to fire a gun at a given time.—Pamela Short
