Only on the roof of his parents' house, above the alleys of a slum in Adana, with his beloved pigeons, can Yusuf find peace, and himself. Finding a foothold in the dystopian world outside is more difficult.

Confronting the harsh realities of life from the rooftop of his house somewhere in a suburb of Adana, the taciturn young man, Yusuf, spends his time passionately breeding pigeons. Indeed, the birds, which has inherited from his father, are Yusuf's solace, and, in particular, one female pigeon, Maverdi, is his favourite. However, this unusual bond doesn't sit well with his brother, who, more and more, pressurises Yusuf to find a job and support the family. Then, sensitive Yusuf sees beautiful Gülfem and falls head over heels in love with her. Can Yusuf keep on living in his secure, isolated world?—Nick Riganas

Yusuf is a youngster living with his sister and brother in one of Adana's suburbs. On the roof of the house where they live, he passionately feeds and raises the pigeons bequeathed by his father. He has got a special bond with a female pigeon named Maverdi. His brother forces him to work and to earn money. Yusuf who doesn't know any other world than the one with his pigeons on the roof will face the labor life and the realities of his neighborhood.
