Teenagers Amy and Andy make a pact that if they're both still single at 35 they'll marry each other. Twenty years later they've drifted apart, but when they bump into each other again it's life-changing for both of them.

As teen-agers Amy and Andy swore that, that if single at 35, they would get together. 20 years later Amy is disorganized and drink -dependent whilst Andy is a successful record producer with a son from his first marriage and bossy girl-friend Kelly when the pair meet at a birthday party for Amy's little nephew. As Amy stumbles from one disastrous one-night stand to another Andy proposes to Kelly in somewhat embarrassing circumstances.
