Chief of Police Rui, a happily married man of principles, is in charge of investigating Joana, a teacher who's accused of political crimes. After some false starts, he manages to arrest her, but is startled to learn that she's also a nun. The revelation doesn't alter the natural course of events: he must torture her in order to obtain a confession, and gets increasingly attracted to her.—[email protected]
In times of military dictatorship in Brazil, a nun is arrested by an abusive detective after giving classes to poor people in the slums of São Paulo. She is accused of subversion without any evidence and isolated in the jail without any communication with her family or friends. Then she is tortured and submitted to all sort of humiliation to confess that she has political issues. However the detective has an unexpected reaction after many sessions of torture.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
