A vice inspector for the Paris police takes special interest in the plight of drug-addicted Lucky whom he considers to be more victim than criminal.

When the middle-aged police inspector Georges Vallois is assigned to investigate the murder case of a drug dealer, the suspect is his addicted mistress Lucky Fridel.
