A series of crimes is the main plot of this successful soap opera. In the first episode, Paulo Soares dies in a car accident. Following that murder, lawyer Hélio Ribeiro gets killed. He was the father of Irene, who then suffers with the death of her aunt, Júlia Braga. With the death of millionaire Francesca Ferreto, young Irene realizes that the crimes are connected, and she decides to investigate them herself. The rest of the series is based on personal problems between the characters and includes more crimes.
