When a world famous band called The Silver Boulders break up, the bandleaders Nat and Alex Wolff go into a state of depression before reuniting as The Naked Brothers Band.

Written and directed by actress Polly Draper (thirtysomething), the 2004 rock-mockumentary home movie stars her real life singer-songwriting/musician sons Nat and Alex Wolff and tells of the band they established with their friends in preschool. Their father and Draper's jazz pianist husband Michael Wolff (The Arsenio Hall Show) portrays their inept widowed according-playing dad and produced and arranged the film's music. Draper and Wolff's famous celebrity friends made cameo appearances, such as Ann Curry, Ricki Lake, Tony Shalhoub, Cyndi Lauper, Julianne Moore, Uma Thurman, jazz singer Nancy Wilson, Arsenio Hall, and the entire cast of TV's thirtysomething (the latter including Draper herself). It became the pilot to the hit Nickelodeon TV show of the same name (2007-09).—Eli Allen
