Mobster Thomas Nagle and his gang take over a ship to use running guns and counterfeit money into Lisbon.

Ship captain Duncan is found murdered, his pockets stuffed with counterfeit money. It is presumed that Duncan was planning to distribute the phony money in Europe, but first mate Nick Shaw believes the captain was innocent of such plans. He sets out to clear his name. The real counterfeiter, gangster Thomas Nagle and his girlfriend Norma Harrison board and with their gang take over the ship, holding the crew hostage. Shaw pretends to go along with the gang, which is running guns and counterfeit currency to Lisbon. But Shaw has no intention of letting them succeed.—Jim Beaver <[email protected]>

A group of gunrunners and counterfeiters, led by Thomas Nagle (George Reeves), commandeer a freighter after murdering the skipper Captain Jim Duncan (Lyle Talbot) and stuffing his pockets with counterfeit money, imprison the sailors in the hold and head for Marseille. First mate Nick Shaw (Jon Hall) pretends to go along with the gangsters, but his agenda is to clear the captain's good name, rescue the crew and turn the tables on the gang.
