A town is terrorized by a monster that was created by local environmental pollution.
A horror movie about a monster that has been created from a garbage dump in Milpitas, a town near San Francisco. This monster attacks a party at the local high school. Before he can seriously threaten the town, however, he comes into fatal contact with the town's TV transformer tower.—Ørnås
When a landfill is overfull, and pollution reaches its maximum, a monster is born. Made from garbage, and bearing a resemblance to a giant fly, the Milpitas Monster has an uncontrollable desire to consume large quantities of garbage cans. Some high school students find out about the monster and attempt to destroy it.
In the mid-1970's, a group of high school students and their intrepid photography teacher embarked on an impossible mission to make a feature length motion picture called, 'THE MILPITAS MONSTER."
An homage to the giant monster movies of the 1950's, the roots of THE MILPITAS MONSTER reach back to King Kong and the Japanese Godzilla films. It's ecological statement was that man's own waste would return to haunt him. So, a hairy 50-foot tall garbage-eating Monster was born to wreak havoc on the community of Milpitas, California,USA.
While the high school class clowns make stink bombs and play their practical jokes, the real Monster emerges, seen only by the town drunk. Soon the towns garbage cans disappear. The citizens are outraged. No one knows what to do. But when the mayor's daughter is taken from the high school dance, the police and the fireman have to take action. See a night of griping suspense! 50 tons of bestial fury, on a rampage! Can anything stop it, before the entire town is reduced to a pile of rubble?Filmed entirely on location in pre-Silcon Valley Milpitas, California on a "volunteer" budget with pre-digital effects.
