The colorful, humorous and meaningful life story of Jerry Torre, known for his appearance as 'The Marble Faun' in the 1975 Maysles' Brothers Documentary Grey Gardens, as told by first-time filmmakers Jason Hay and Steve Pelizza.

One truly unique component to this film is the way in which it was produced, with no experience and no budget. Jason Hay and Steve Pelizza were not filmmakers at the time of their first encounter with Jerry Torre in November of '09. No film school background, no previous video projects to speak of. They were merely fans of the original documentary Grey Gardens who happened to get in touch with Mr. Torre. In the ensuing conversations with Jerry, Jason and Steve saw the potential for a story in Jerry's life. Not only from the pop-culture, "where are they now" perspective, but from the socially responsible "this story can have a positive impact on people's lives" perspective. Jerry agreed to lay his life bare for us, so we may learn from his mistakes and triumphs. This prompted the purchase of a camera, which Steve learned to use during the course of this film without any prior "film theory" knowledge. Shooting occurred around the three's own life schedules, over the course of about 16 months. Editing software was purchased and the process of learning how to edit video, sound and creating graphics began. Jason and Steve taught themselves how to edit, the whole creation process was a learning experience right up until the final credit roll. Other than the purchase of the camera and the editing software, no money was spent in the production of this film—Aggregate Pictures

The colorful, humorous and meaningful life story of Jerry Torre, known for his appearance as 'The Marble Faun' in the 1975 Maysles' Brothers Documentary Grey Gardens, as told by first-time filmmakers Jason Hay and Steve Pelizza. Fans of the documentary Grey Gardens will remember the quiet, understated and somewhat morose young man whom Little Edie dubbed 'The Marble Faun'. Many have wondered what had become of the boy after all these years, what memories did he have to share, was he still alive? One could almost set Jerry's time at Grey Gardens aside altogether and still be fascinated by all the stories he has to tell. Jerry's story unfolds as a classic American tale. A compromising childhood, then a dash for freedom leading him indirectly to Grey Gardens, a formative event in his life. Later awakening to his sexuality in the 1970's in New York City, going on to travel in Europe and the Middle East under unique circumstances, and sadly falling prey to some life's darker temptations. Eventually pulling himself up and dusting himself off, he decides to heed a lifelong call to carve stone and discovers his love for the craft. Jerry Torre's sculptures help free him, and he fully develops into the beloved individual he is today. Jerry's story is of personal struggle, strength, love and achievement. Jerry has decided he is willing to share his experiences with us so we may be educated, inspired and perhaps even provoked. This promises to be a meaningful journey.—Aggregate Pictures
