After a life of crime, a notorious kidnapper tries to change his ways and turn over a new leaf to win the heart of the woman he loves.
Michael Mishra, a kidnapper from Patna, falls for a girl, Varsha Shukla, at a very young age. He got arrested and sent to jail. After releasing from jail, he searched for her but couldn't find her. He then finds her in a talent show. The story revolves around as to how he gets his love and what he has to go through.—Dharmesh Parmar
Michael Mishra (Arshad Warsi) is an expert tailor, who accidentally chokes a local don when he comes to give his measurements for a suit and is witnessed by Michael's half-clad maid who is wiping the floor at that time. Believing that Michael killed the don and respect him for that.He falls in love with a girl, but before his love can blossom, he is arrested and deported from India. Michael treks back to the same village to reclaim his love, only to find the girl's house locked and the family moved. Michael turns to the world of crime & takes up the kidnapping business.
Michael still remembers the "Hello" the girl said to her all these years ago and gets every kidnapped girl to repeat those words to him (in the hope of finding his love). He finds that "Hello" girl in the talent competition in Patna as Varsha Shukla (Aditi Rao Hydari).
But Michael loses her in the crowd after the show & is not able to meet her. He put up poster all over the city, but to no avail. He retires from business as he now depressed & his trusted aide Half Pant takes over the kidnapping business. One day Half pant kidnaps Varsha's dog my mistake. Varsha gives her scooter to Half Pant to rescue the dog. Later, Michael recognizes the scooter and rushes to meet Varsha with Half Pant. But Varsha insults half pant as a no-good kidnapper. So, Michael is afraid to introduce himself to her.
Michael hires an empty apartment close to Varsha. He tries all the tricks to get close to Varsha but fails. Then one day her dog is stuck in a drainpipe and Michael rescues it, gaining Varsha's attention. They then start meeting & exchanging glances on their respective balconies & eventually this blossom into love. The entire colony is witness to this and soon Varsha's Chachi decides to marry her off (as her parents are dead).
Varsha writes to Michael & tells him that while he is cool, but he is not yet husband material and asks him to improve his image. Michael cuts his hair and releases all his hostages. But he still feels empty inside and decides he needs to atone for all his past sins. He leaves Varsha a note and asks her to wait for him. But her Chachi intercepts the note and tears it apart. Michael leaves Patna.
He hands himself over to the law and confesses to all his crimes since childhood. He is sentenced to 500 yrs in prison and is sent to a high security prison. Half pant vows to take care of Varsha till Michael returns. Michael quickly establishes his dominance in the prison but is still heart broken.Meanwhile when Chachi tries to marry off Varsha, she leaves house & goes to Mumbai for a career in showbiz. She in insulted in her first audition for her Bihari accent a quickly finds herself working as a waitress at a coffee cafe.
Michael discovers a sewing machine inside the prison and takes up tailoring. Meanwhile the director of the audition meets Varsha by chance and offers her an item number. In prison, there is an escape attempt which traps the jailer under a large stone. Michael doesn't escape but helps save the jailer. Jailor understands Michael's story and erases his police record and allows him to escape. Michael returns to Patna and takes up a flower delivery boy job.
He finds that Varsha is no longer in Patna but has become a successful actress in Mumbai. He finds that she is coming to Patna to be judge in a talent show. Michael attends the show, but Varsha fails to even recognize Michael.
half Pant confronts Varsha at her hotel & she claims that she loved a guitarist who lived above Michael's balcony. She thought she was exchanging letters with him, while Michael thought it was all for him. But the guitarist also abandoned Varsha, and which is why she moved to Mumbai. Half Pant tells Varsha that Michael has been looking for her since his childhood. Varsha immediately tells Half Pant to take her to Michael.
They find him on a hilltop where Varsha reveals that she is the same girl and that she has been looking for Michael her whole life too. She is astounded that Michael gave up his whole life for just 1 misguided letter from her. She embraces him.Michael opens a Dhaba at the same hilltop and lives happily ever after.
