The diver's team is in the harbor. Alexander dives to the sunken ship. There is an explosion. His foot is trapped. The air in his cylinders will last for only two hours. Maria who works at the port finds his husband Petar and informs him of the mishap... Flashback: Alexander is a former pupil of Petar's. Petar invites him to stay at his home. Maria and Alexander were in love years ago. The two separated on his departure to study abroad. Maria married Petar. The latter knows nothing of the past. The old feelings between Maria and Alexander revive. The divers are shocked by Alexander's behavior. They have a fight with him. Petar has been removed from the post of leader of the driver's team. Alexander replaces him. Petar learns that Alexander replaces him at home too. Alexander and Maria reveal their relationship to him. Petar goes away. The flashback ends...
