There are worlds that lie beyond the worlds we live in There are demands of love much more than we are ready to give in - Once said a poet while trying to pen what love is. The Last Wish is a story of an unfulfilled love, set in a middle class urban setting, in a society like India, where marriage is still the ultimate test of successful love and is often decided by many other factors than just love. It is a story of Bajyaa, Alok and Maitreyee. Bajyaa, a man from an ordinary background, determined to carve his own path but who has lost his way in vices because he cannot accept the fate of his love. While Alok, a man who feels cheated by fate, despite marrying the woman he has always loved. Maitreyee, who thought she could trade her emotions for practicality but fate had other plans for her. The story begins when a terminally ill Maitrayee forces a meeting between Bajyaa and Alok. The jilted lover Bajyaa unleashes his hatred on Alok. But nothing can break Alok's resolve and the commitment towards his love, which in reality was always one-sided. What is Maitreyee's last wish? Will her last wish have the power to transform their lives after hers? This intense story delves into various emotions of sorrow, longing, friendship, acceptance and above all, love.—Anand Dilip Gokhale, Gautam Marathe
