The estranged Karamazov siblings return home to see their dying father and settle a financial dispute, but nothing goes as planned and they find themselves in the middle of a murder case and questioning everything they have inherited.

Fyodor Karamazov is ill and holed up in his oceanfront home with his loyal caretaker Liz (Margron), when his three estranged children return home to settle a financial dispute. Despite carving out new lives for themselves-Aly (Richman) has found refuge in religion, Viv (Tuomanen) is a queer artist, and Dmitri (Cowan) is a charismatic schemer-each is in the midst of their own personal crisis. Their attempts at reconciliation are complicated further when Fyodor is murdered and they must finally face the truth about their dark past. Part murder mystery, part spiritual quest, THE KARAMAZOVS follows Liz, who pieces together events of that life-altering week. In this feature film debut, Director Anna Brenner uses Dostoevsky's novel as a jumping off point, presenting a subversive and contemporary American story. With original music by Jordan McCree, cinematography by Tatiana Stolopovskaya, and editing by Yana Biryukova, The Karamazovs was first adapted into a theater production that premiered in New York City 2020 and now to film.
