Synopsis

After eight consecutive winning seasons as head football coach at the University of Kentucky and before he led Alabama to six national championships, PAUL "BEAR" BRYANT was head coach at Texas A&M. In 1954, more than 100 hopefuls arrived in Junction, Texas, for training camp. The players were subjected to 114-degree temperatures and deprived of food or water for hours of grueling practice a day. The 35 players who survived won only one game that season, but formed the nucleus of a team that went undefeated just two years later and became champions.
