John Jones (Jed Prouty) attends an American Legion convention in Hollywood and the whole family, minus the married daughter, goes with him. A minor movie actor, Danny Regan (William Tracy) picks up Lucy Jones (June Carlson) and gets her a screen test, which proves disastrous.
