Amanda Wainwright is a single mom who works as a US Postal Inspector while son Preston is a forensics lab intern. Amanda's partner is Mitch who helps deliver a message after each case is solved.

Set in Washington, D.C., "The Inspectors" is inspired by real cases handled by the United States Postal Inspection Service. Preston Wainwright, a college senior at Jamestown University, doesn't let the paralysis he incurred in a car accident hold him back, and he enjoys working as an intern for his postal inspector mother Amanda. Together they solve crimes, including Internet scams.
