The respectable Nikos Paganis is a trustee at the Holy Church of Saint Apostles. He feels that his hunchback brother, Markos, is a loafer because he doesn't work and spends most of his time talking in riddles.
Whiling the time away philosophising, Markos, an unemployed man suffering from severe kyphosis, is the laughing stock of the entire neighbourhood, and, sadly, his family. However, it is his brother, Nikos, a reputable member of society and corrupt commissioner of the local Saint Apostles Church, who is a wolf in sheep's clothing. And, without an ounce of shame, Nikos has concocted a fool-proof plan to embezzle money from the parish to engage his daughter to his colleague, Thanos, and as if that weren't enough, he has also set his sights on stealing Markos' share of the house. But, Markos, and the newcomer priest, Father Timotheos, are on to them. Will the power of love, forgiveness, and understanding prevail? What fate awaits Markos, the sensitive hunchback of Athens?—Nick Riganas
