The neglected wife of a tweedy astronomer becomes convinced that her astrologer's prediction of a new dream man in her life will come true.

Astronomer Bill Whitley is so preoccupied with the new comet he's discovered that his time at the observatory sometimes comes at the expense of his beautiful wife, Vicky. When the neglected spouse becomes influenced by an eccentric neighbor into believing in the power of astrology, she subscribes to a weekly horoscope from a phony seer, the appropriately named Margaret Sybill. When the beautiful Mrs. Whitley reads that a new dream man will be coming soon into her life, she assumes he's taken the form of Lloyd Hunter, a handsome and dashing foreign correspondent who doubles as the neighborhood air raid warden. A frantic Bill realizes that he's going to have to keep closer track of his earthbound heavenly body if he's going to keep the prediction from becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.[email protected]

Astronomer Bill Whitley is a workaholic at the best of times, it now being the worst of times in he having worked every night for weeks at the Jefferson Observatory in doing research on a comet, newly discovered by him, with the work culminating in a public lecture and viewing party introducing the comet formally in showing its predicted collision with the Earth's moon. He hates it when his loving wife of two years, Vicky Whitley, mistakenly calls him an astrologer, what he considers nothing more than hocus pocus. Feeling neglected and thus troubled in their marriage, Vicky, in an effort for a better life and marriage, is convinced by their "believer" neighbor Nancy Potter to have her horoscope done by famed astrologer Mrs. Sybill, who is aware of Bill, his work, and his probable skepticism, and who will as part of the deliverables provide Vicky with a list of dos and don'ts. What Vicky infers from her reading is that she and Bill must separate as she will meet an unidentified man who truly loves her sometime between two specified dates. Complications ensue when Vicky believes she's met the man that fits the brief laid out by Mrs. Sybill, their neighborhood air raid warden Lloyd Hunter, Bill who has to figure out where saving his marriage fits within what is arguably the most important time in his career. Factoring into what Bill decides to do is Lloyd being up front that Vicky could be the woman of his dreams. What may also factor into the equation is Mrs. Sybill and her continued updates to Vicky's horoscope.—Huggo
