Moctar lives in Mali with his mother Saffi and his ailing grandfather. One day, Saffi receives a letter from France which overwhelms her with happiness. Ibrahim Sow, her husband and Moctar's father, who has emigrated there, can at last accommodate them. Mother and son say farewell to Grandpa, as he cannot follow them. When they arrive in Lyon, where Ibrahim is waiting for them, something strange happens. Moctar sees a hyena in a street... Of course, nobody believes him...—Guy Bellinger
