Set in 1912, at the local politician's and a wealthy factory owner's Solomon Taktakidze's large home in Tbilisi. The celebration of his daughter's Ekaterine's engagement dinner to his rival magnet's son - Niko Kiknadze is interrupted by the arrival of a man calling himself Inspector Gabriel Kvirikadze, who is investigating the suicide of a young woman named Maro Tsiklauri.
