An Indonesian man, who married his landlady with the blessing of her husband, is given two-thirds of his wealth so he can continue his studies in the Netherlands.
Amir Laksamana, who boarded at Dr. Surya's house, ends up marrying his landlady, aka Surya's wife, Artisa, even with Surya's blessing who gave two-thirds of his wealth so that Amir could continue his studies in the Netherlands. Amir, who later became a successful lawyer, forgets his wife, and marries two other women, before finally becoming poor.
