In this spin-off series of The Golden Girls, Dorothy Zbornak remarries and moves away, so her mother Sophia and their roommates Blanche Devereaux and Rose Nyland open a hotel called The Golden Palace.

A spinoff of the Golden Girls. After Dorothy gets married and leaves the group, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia buy a hotel. But what do they know about running a hotel? For that particular reason, they fall back on the experience of the trusted manager and the funny cook.—Steve Richer <[email protected]>

The Golden Palace begins where The Golden Girls ended, in the quartet's now-sold Miami house. With Dorothy Zbornak having remarried and left in the series finale, the three remaining roommates (Sophia Petrillo, Rose Nylund, and Blanche Devereaux) decide to invest in a Miami hotel that is up for sale. The hotel, however, has been stripped of all of its personnel in an effort to appear more profitable, leaving only two employees: Roland Wilson, the hotel's manager, and Chuy Castillos, the hotel's chef. This requires the women to perform all the tasks of hotel staff.
