Summaries

Part fiction, part documentary, Charles Burnett presents an unflinching look at homelessness in Los Angeles with empathy and concern.

Box Brown works at a Bank until certain circumstances combined with political factors result in himself being homeless and living out of his car. Box Brown's story is interlaced with interviews and footage of actual homeless people and people passing by. The story of Box Brown is used as a cruel irony that many people face, Box Brown, being someone who deals with money daily being forced to live on the streets. As a result, Brown is met with violence and shows how close many are to experiencing homelessness.—A.M
