While impersonating Lord Winston, his client, Ned Lightning, a guide, discovers a plot to pin a charge of murder on John MacDonald and to deprive his daughter, Ethel, of her valuable land. Ned investigates, finds the evidence to free MacDonald, exposes Grant Knowles as swindler and murderer, and is made the new manager of Lord Winston's trading company as a reward.—AFI
