The story of Anna's family relationships, love and career during the Chinese reform.
Anna's ex-husband entrusts her with a child he'd had with another woman right before his death. Anna couldn't face this failed marriage, and neglects her own mother and child. In her escape, she falls in love with businessman Zhao, divorced and with kid, and finds out that she is pregnant with his child. She believes what he says, "to love a person is to accept her everything, including her past". Anna's child Xi, an 11-year-old sensible boy, loves his mother dearly, but deep down still considers her selfish and irresponsible. Through Anna's flashback, by recounting the life choices she made, Anna rises up her love towards her family to the idea of encompassing love for the world as a family.—Suyi
