An official, betrayed by his lady servant, joins musketeers such as Athos, while she turns into a countess and a spy that will eventually be executed.

Anne, a young boarder in a convent, escapes and spends the night with a young lieutenant, Herbert. The officer is reported deserter and sentenced to ten years imprisonment, because of his lover's false evidence. His brother, the hangman from Bethunes, swears he'll avenge him. Anne marries the count De La Fère. Herbert is desperate and commits suicide. The hangman reveals the truth to Anne's husband and the hussy has to escape.
