If history is written by the victors, what stories would the defeated tell?

The Eagle's Shadow examines the stories told in Spanish artist Carlos Giménez's groundbreaking 1977 autobiographical comic, "Paracuellos". The stories of Spain's Civil War orphans: children like Giménez, taken under the wing of Generalissimo Franco's Social Aid boarding schools. The children of the dictator's utopia, marching for forty years under the eagle flag of his fascist regime. Inspired by Giménez's example activists and cartoonists come together, in the midst of present social upheaval and resurgent far-right shadows, to restore Spain's Historical Memory. The memory of the children of Social Aid and of the forgotten victims of Europe's longest military dictatorship.
