An American soldier falls in love with a French maiden, but their romance is thwarted when the Yanks return home. Years later she comes to America to put on a fashion show and find her long-lost lover.

Billy Brent falls in love with Fifi in France during the Great War, but they are parted by the fighting and go their separate ways. By 1925, Billy is the manager of a clothing store in a quiet Midwestern town, greatly dissatisfied with the old-fashioned merchandising ideas of the store's owner, Angus McGregor. Taking advantage of McGregor's absence, Billy invites a famous dressmaker from Paris to put on a fashion show in the store, only to discover when she arrives that the designer is none other than his lost love, Fifi. McGregor returns in time to witness the fashion show, which proceeds despite the protests of local reformers and is a great success. Fifi and Billy get married.—Pamela Short
