15 or so years in the future, Bea decides to leave the underground bunker where she has lived all her life with her mum, and venture above ground to find her grandfather. Along the way she meets a guide who promises to help her navigate the apocalyptic world without a sun. Eventually she finds her granddad, now a drunk, at a an abandoned cinema, together they watch a clip of a sunrise, before he vanishes.
In present day, Andy and June are getting married on the day of a solar eclipse. After just a few weeks together they are tying the knot, much to their parent's and friends concerns.
Ex con Malcolm believes the eclipse signals the end of the world - but no-one will listen to his words of wisdom, believing him to be a crazed preacher.
