Summaries

The cases of hard-nosed Los Angeles district attorney Paul Ryan.

The first part of each show, Ryan and his staff do investigation work. The second part was the trial, with Ryan voice-overs explaining the legalities.—Ed Stephan <[email protected]>

Filmed in the flat, matter-of-fact style of fellow Jack Webb series as Dragnet and Adam-12, this show starred Robert Conrad as Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Paul Ryan, who spent the first half of every episode gathering evidence against the accused party and the second half presenting it in court, where he was often opposed by Katherine Benson of the Public Defender's Office. Stafford was Ryan's boss, and Ramirez was Ryan's "legman" who did much of the out-of-office detective work.—Marty McKee <[email protected]>
