A team-building conference for municipal employees turns into a nightmare when accusations of corruption begin to circulate and plague the work environment. At the same time, a mysterious figure begins murdering the participants.
A group of municipal employees travels to a remote resort in a rural village for a team-building retreat, preparing for their upcoming project: constructing a retail mall in the local farming community. Despite facing intense backlash from local residents, the manager, Ingela, deems the project a success and congratulates project lead Jonas. Joining them are Jonas's loyal supporter Kaj; slacker duo Eva and Torbjörn; environmentalist Anette; new employee Nadja; Lina, who recently returned from burnout leave; and her supportive colleague and friend, Amir.
The retreat begins poorly when Nadja highlights discrepancies in the expense report. Lina is shocked and distressed to see her signature on a document denying compensation to a farmer whose land was bulldozed, despite her earlier insistence on fair payment. Ingela and Jonas react dismissively, and the meeting ends abruptly. Privately, Jonas threatens Lina to stay quiet. Meanwhile, a masked killer begins targeting the resort staff, murdering them and sabotaging the group's cell phones and internet access.
During a zip-lining exercise, Jonas and Kaj humiliate Lina for her hesitation. Later, Amir informs Lina that the farmer had taken his own life after losing his land. Determined to uncover the truth, Lina sneaks into Jonas's cabin and copies files from his laptop onto a flash drive. With Nadja and Amir's support, Lina confronts Jonas, revealing that the project is a scam. Jonas failed to secure partnerships to stock the mall and secretly planned to sell the land back to a corporation for a high-paying position. He had overworked Lina to keep her distracted and forged her signature during her medical leave. When Jonas fails to bribe her into silence, Lina demands he cancel the project or face exposure.
The killer's spree escalates as he murders Kaj in front of Anette, who narrowly escapes. He then kills Ingela by hanging her from a flagpole, sending the group into a panic. Lina and Jonas flee into the woods, where Jonas is injured by a booby-trapped wire. Reaching a lake, they escape on a raft from a prior team-building activity. However, Jonas turns on Lina, demanding the flash drive and kicking her into the water before escaping alone.
Lina reaches the resort's lodge, where the surviving employees-except Anette and Jonas-have regrouped. They deduce the killer is the son of the deceased farmer, targeting those involved in the construction project. The group decides to use the zip-line to cross the lake, but chaos ensues when Eva panics and runs, forcing Torbjörn to chase her. Lina and Amir manage to escape while Nadja, caught in a bear trap, fends off the killer before freeing herself. Anette is later killed after Jonas abandons her to save himself.
Lina and Amir use the zip-line, but the killer has rigged the landing pad with spikes. Amir sacrifices himself so Lina can survive. Onshore, Lina finds the stolen cell phones and calls for help. Meanwhile, Torbjörn and Eva hide in the lodge, where they confront the killer. Nadja arrives in time to decapitate him with the ceremonial shovel intended for the project's groundbreaking.
As Lina returns to the resort, a deranged Jonas attacks her, blaming her for the collapse of his scheme. Lina fights back and kills him by reopening his head wound, effectively scalping him. Emergency services arrive, and Lina is treated for her injuries as the nightmare finally comes to an end.
