The sensitive issue of national identity, particularly the conflict between the two sides of the strait, was again instigated. The cheer squad travels across the world to cheer on Taiwanese athletes, who have been doing tremendous practice to compete abroad, simply because of their patriotism to Taiwan. This movement has become contradictory and controversial during Taiwan's 2008 Presidential Election, which brings the cheer squad troubles entering China to attend the Beijing Olympics. What those Taiwanese was trying to do was only to show their fervent affections toward the territory--Taiwan, which, however, often been interpreted by China government as an act of terrorism.
